Nous research secures $90m funding, expands AI agent offerings for enterprises
Nous Research, the developer of the open-source Hermes agent, has raised $90 million in Series B funding at a $1.5 billion valuation, confirming earlier reports from TechCrunch. The round was led by Robot Ventures, with participation from Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung, and 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner. This brings the startup’s total funding to $158 million. The Hermes agent, popular among developers, has been cloned over 24 million times and drives approximately 2.5% of global AI token usage.
The funding will support Nous Research’s expansion into the enterprise sector with 'Hermes for Businesses,' enabling companies to deploy customized AI agents for secure, multi-step workflows. The startup reported annualized revenue of $36 million by mid-September 2026 and expects to surpass $100 million by year-end. The Wall Street Journal highlighted these financial projections.
