Nvidia and agile robots launch humanoid robot reference platform for 2027
NVIDIA and Agile Robots have unveiled the Agile ONE SN, a humanoid robot reference platform set for release in early 2027. The platform integrates NVIDIA’s Isaac GR00T and Jetson Thor, offering developers a streamlined workflow for robot development. Agile ONE SN features a 1.4-meter-tall, 40-kilogram humanoid with 31 degrees of freedom and two WUJI Hand 2 robotic hands, each with 20 degrees of freedom. It includes 1kHz force control and tactile sensing. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the rapid advancement of general robotics, calling it the 'ChatGPT moment' for the field. The platform also includes safety integration with NVIDIA’s Halos system.
The platform is designed to cut setup time from weeks to days, with support for simulation, training, and deployment. NVIDIA’s Isaac Lab 3.0, an open-source framework, enables multi-GPU training and supports various physics engines. Additionally, NVIDIA released Isaac OS, a framework for connecting AI models, sensors, and hardware. The company also announced partnerships with ABB Robotics, NEURA Robotics, and others using its open robotics tools.
NVIDIA’s SimReady Central Library offers over 2,000 assets for simulation, while the Human 1M dataset provides human activity data for robot learning. The company also announced plans to produce up to 2,000 units of Agile ONE SN with Agile Robots for research institutions.
