Nvidia launches dlss 5 with high system requirements

Nvidia has launched DLSS 5, its latest AI upscaling technology, which is set to debut on September 3rd, 2026. The technology, which was previously met with skepticism, is now available on RTX 50-series desktop and laptop GPUs, as well as through GeForce Now cloud gaming. The only game currently supporting DLSS 5 is NBA 2K27, which is set to launch on the same day at 9 PM PT. Nvidia described DLSS 5 as its most significant advancement in computer graphics since real-time ray tracing was introduced in 2018. The company emphasized the technology's ability to enhance visual quality in games. The release comes after a controversial announcement in March, where the technology was compared to a 'real-time generative AI filter for video games' and 'motion smoothing for video games, but worse.'
