NVIDIA announced on August 25 the release of the Jetson Orin Nano 2, a new robotics computer aimed at entry-level edge artificial intelligence applications. The product is set to launch in the first half of 2027 in the form of modules and development kits. The Jetson Orin Nano 2 maintains the same physical dimensions as the Jetson Orin Nano Super but offers double the AI inference computing power compared to its predecessor. If performance is kept at the same level as the previous model, the new device consumes only 15W, which is 60% less than the previous version. In standard mode, the Jetson Orin Nano 2 delivers 78 TOPS of AI computing power, featuring an 8-core Arm instruction set CPU and 8GB of memory. Video processing capabilities have also seen significant improvements. Modern mid-sized frontier models have achieved the same level of accuracy as last year’s largest frontier models, unlocking real-time intelligence for edge devices. The Jetson Orin Nano 2 brings this breakthrough to millions of developers, providing the necessary performance and energy efficiency for real-time inference.
