Nvidia's jensen Huang calls for better community engagement in AI infrastructure development
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang urged the AI industry to improve communication with local communities, emphasizing the need for public support in building data centers. During an interview with CNBC on August 26, Huang highlighted the importance of collaboration between the tech sector and communities to prepare for AI infrastructure growth.
He argued that data centers could drive U.S. reindustrialization and help reduce energy costs. A recent MIT study suggested that shifting data center energy use to off-peak hours could lower energy costs by up to 5% in Texas and 4% in the Mid-Atlantic region.
NVIDIA reported $89 billion in data center revenue for its second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, surpassing analyst expectations. Huang warned that without broader public acceptance, the U.S. risks falling behind in the AI race.
