Onlyfans creators criticize meta's AI sexting feature

OnlyFans creators are criticizing Meta for allowing its AI agent, Muse, to engage in explicit sexting with adult users, while restricting real users' ability to express sexuality. Vanniall, an OnlyFans creator based in New York City, expressed frustration over Meta's decision, stating it's unfair that AI can engage in sexual activity while real adults face restrictions. Similar concerns were raised by other creators, who noted their accounts are often restricted on Meta platforms, unlike Muse's AI agent. Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton explained that private conversations between adults and AI agents are different from social media marketing. Muse, an always-on AI agent, gained popularity through Meta's large distribution network, becoming a top download. While it generates explicit text, it does not produce images or videos. Critics like Jiz Lee and Tony Genius argue that AI is being allowed to do more than humans, raising concerns about data usage and the future of human performers. Lee also links online censorship to FOSTA-SESTA, a 2018 law that impacted Section 230 protections. Genius suggests creating an AI version of himself to maintain relevance in the industry.
