OpenAI has launched two new shopping features for ChatGPT, enabling users to virtually try on clothing and accessories and save products to a favorites library. The virtual try-on feature allows users to upload a selfie or full-body photo to visualize how an item would look on them, with the option to also upload an image of a product for the AI to try on. The Favorites function lets users save products to a library for later reference, which will also include try-on images. OpenAI claims these updates leverage the ChatGPT Images 2.5 model, which offers improved lighting, textures, and faster image generation. The company also highlighted additional shopping capabilities, such as helping users assemble outfits based on described styles or identifying items from celebrity outfits. Despite these advancements, competition remains fierce, with Google already offering virtual try-on features.
