OpenAI resetting codex quotas and addressing usage concerns

Thibault Sottiaux, the head of the OpenAI Codex and ChatGPT team, addressed user concerns about rapid usage consumption on X. He confirmed that all Codex subscribers will have their quotas reset tomorrow. OpenAI has identified two main issues contributing to the high usage: inefficiencies in long conversations involving images and multiple context compressions, and high usage levels among the P95 and above percentiles of the Computer History dataset. A dedicated team is working to resolve these issues, with fixes expected to be rolled out tomorrow. Additionally, OpenAI has discovered a new method to improve usage efficiency, which will be developed in the coming weeks. The quota reset is scheduled for approximately 14:00 PT tomorrow.
