OpenAI taps uber executive jill hazelbaker to lead corporate affairs

OpenAI has named Jill Hazelbaker as its new Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. In this role, Hazelbaker will oversee the company's global communications and corporate positioning, working alongside leadership to enhance public understanding of artificial intelligence and bolster trust in the organization's mission. Hazelbaker brings extensive experience from the technology and political sectors. Most recently, she served as President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Uber, where she was instrumental in guiding the company's evolution from a startup into a major global technology platform. Her tenure at Uber involved managing global communications, marketing, public policy, safety, and people teams. Prior to Uber, Hazelbaker held communications and public policy roles at Snap and previously held senior leadership positions at Google, covering global corporate communications and government relations in Europe. Her career also includes early experience in U.S. politics, notably serving as National Communications Director for Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign and as Press Secretary to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
