OpenAI unveils GPT-6.1 sol with enhanced performance and lower costs

OpenAI has launched GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgraded version of its GPT-6 Sol model, offering improved capabilities in coding, professional work, and computer use at significantly lower costs. The model nearly matches the performance of GPT-6 Astra, the company's most advanced model, but at one-fifth the price. GPT-6.1 Sol is available to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, with API access as gpt-6.1-sol. It features standard API prices of $2 per million input tokens, $0.10 per million cached input tokens, and $10 per million output tokens. The model also introduces an Ultrafast version with up to 8x faster token generation. GPT-6.1 Sol outperforms previous models in several benchmarks, including coding tasks, professional document analysis, and scientific research, while maintaining a lower error rate and improved safety performance.
