OPPO and Manus collaborate to introduce AI agents in find x10 series
OPPO has announced a partnership with Manus, an AI agent platform, to integrate its capabilities into OPPO's AI Mind Pilot. This collaboration allows smartphones to transition from answering questions to accomplishing tasks. Tang Kai, President of OPPO's Software Engineering, emphasized that AI agents now understand intent, perform actions, and deliver results. Manus co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Zhang Tao, noted that smartphones are the most natural platform for personal AI agents due to their daily task management capabilities.
The integration of Manus' capabilities is featured in the new agent mode of AI Mind Pilot, first introduced in the OPPO Find X10 series with ColorOS 17. This mode enables the phone to understand users' ultimate goals, break tasks into steps, retrieve information, select tools, and deliver results. For instance, planning a trip involves gathering flight tickets, hotel bookings, and generating a daily schedule. In office scenarios, it can organize travel photos, locate images, and create PPTs or proposals.
Privacy is a key focus, with ColorOS 17 using on-device models to handle tasks locally, keeping data within the device. Cloud usage requires explicit user permission. OPPO and Manus highlight user control over data access and operations, combining on-device computing with transparent authorization to ensure both smarter and controllable AI functionality.
