Pangram CEO aims to uncover ai-generated content across the web
Pangram, a Brooklyn-based startup, is gaining attention for its AI content detection tool, which identifies whether online posts are generated by AI or human.
The tool, which can detect AI-generated content on platforms like LinkedIn and Reddit, recently flagged notable instances, including an award-winning short story, a popular novel, and a billionaire’s Wall Street Journal column. Pangram Labs, which raised $9 million in July led by Menlo Ventures, is expanding into AI image and video detection.
Max Spero, Pangram’s cofounder and CEO, emphasizes the importance of accurate AI detection to enable users to voice concerns about AI-generated content. 'Having Pang, as a tool helps people say, 'Don’t let AI replace your voice,' Spero said.
Spero, who previously worked at Google and Nuro, calls himself a 'slop janitor,' highlighting his role in exposing AI-generated content. He and co-founder Bradley Emi believe AI detection is crucial as AI technology reshapes society.
