Pinterest launches ai-powered restyle feature for home design
Pinterest is introducing a new AI feature called 'Restyle' that allows users to visualize and redesign their living spaces. The tool, currently in beta in the U.S. and Canada, leverages Pinterest Intelligence, which combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Dynamo with open-source models and custom technology. Users can take photos of their rooms and experiment with different decor options, including swapping items or changing colors and lighting. The feature was first showcased at Pinterest’s annual Presents event and is set to expand beyond its early preview phase in October. The tool aims to bridge the gap between inspiration and purchase by letting users see saved items in their own spaces, potentially increasing conversion rates.
The Restyle feature is part of Pinterest’s broader push to enhance visual search and shopping experiences. By integrating AI into its platform, Pinterest hopes to provide more personalized and interactive design solutions for its users. The company emphasized that the feature will allow users to explore various styles, such as bohemian or industrial, and make real-time adjustments to their virtual spaces. This marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to transform how users engage with home decor content and products.
