Pluto security secures $42m to address ai-driven enterprise security risks
Pluto Security, a startup focused on enterprise AI security, has raised $42 million in funding to address growing concerns about how employees are using AI tools in unexpected ways. CEO Shahar Bahat highlighted that non-developers, particularly in finance, marketing, and legal departments, are the main sources of AI-related risks. She noted that a finance employee at a Fortune 500 company created an app exposing customer data to the internet. Pluto, which emerged from stealth in April 2026, has already achieved $2 million in annual recurring revenue and over 30 enterprise customers, including Oscar Health and Sixt.
The company’s platform monitors AI tool usage, skills, extensions, and other components to identify risks and enforce security policies without hindering productivity. Pluto’s system can intervene in real-time, stopping unauthorized actions or prompting agents for confirmation. The startup also launched Plutonium, a free platform for checking AI risks, which has attracted thousands of security professionals. With 40 employees in the U.S. and Israel, Pluto plans to expand its product development and security research efforts using the new funding.
