Qwen app introduces education discounts and work assistant membership

On September 9, 2026, the Qwen App launched a membership discount program aimed at college students and teachers. Users who complete identity verification can subscribe to premium and elite memberships at discounted rates for six months. The premium membership, originally priced at 19 yuan per month, is now 9.9 yuan, while the elite membership, normally 49 yuan, is available for 25 yuan. The promotion focuses on high-frequency tasks such as work assistants, which can autonomously break down tasks and call tools for multi-step processes like research analysis and Office document generation. Students can use the work assistant to manage course materials and create class presentations, while teachers can organize teaching materials and develop courseware. Currently, these features are free, but users can upgrade to gain more usage quotas. To claim the discount, users can send "I want to claim the education discount" in the Qwen App or PC version and follow the verification instructions.
