Salesforce and Nvidia launch koa, a reasoning model for enterprise AI
Salesforce and Nvidia have unveiled Koa, a new reasoning model designed to enhance enterprise AI capabilities for sales, marketing, and customer support. Built on Nvidia’s Nemotron model, Koa is the first reasoning model developed by Salesforce, offering an alternative to existing models in its Agentforce platform.
The model was trained using synthetic data simulating customer service and sales scenarios, without using real customer data. Jayesh Govindarajan, Salesforce’s EVP of AI, highlighted the lack of a suitable pre-trained model until Nemotron became available.
Nvidia’s Kari Ann Briski noted the model’s efficiency in token usage, combining sovereign AI, fast inference, and cost-effective reasoning. Salesforce also announced a partnership with Anthropic, allowing customers to use Claude through its ClaudeForce interface while keeping data within Salesforce’s systems.
