Scimplify secures $25m to compete with china in critical materials via AI
Indian startup Scimplify has raised $25 million in an all-equity round led by Hitachi Ventures, with Henkel and Teknor Apex joining as new investors. The funding values the Bengaluru-based company at $250 million, up from $150 million following a $40 million Series B round in March 2025. Scimplify’s total equity funding now stands at $80 million, though the company has not disclosed its valuation. Founded in 2023, Scimplify uses AI to accelerate the production of specialty chemicals and critical materials, with semiconductors, defense, and energy as key growth areas. Co-founder Sachin Santhosh noted that the startup can deliver finished materials in two months, compared to 12 to 18 months traditionally.
Scimplify’s AI platform, Scinode, streamlines the development and production process by identifying suitable manufacturing routes and facilities, while tracking quality and regulatory requirements. The startup currently operates in over 500 manufacturing facilities, with 90% of production in India. It plans to expand to the U.S. and Japan over the next year. Scimplify’s annualized revenue run rate has tripled to about $200 million, with a target of $400 million in the next year. Energy, electronics, and defense now account for 45% to 50% of its revenue, up from less than 15% a year ago. Santhosh also highlighted projects with TDK, BASF, and Hitachi, showcasing the startup’s ability to shorten development timelines for specialty materials.
