Shopify CEO uses ai-driven wine cellar to identify stressful meetings
Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke has transformed his underused wine cellar into a high-tech AI computing hub, using it to analyze his daily life and identify his most stressful meetings.
Speaking on the Sources podcast, Lütke revealed that the space now houses a Dell GB300 server, part of Nvidia's Grace Blackwell Ultra platform, which he uses to train AI models locally. This setup allows him to work with sensitive data without sending it to external labs.
The AI agent gathers data from his Fitbit, calendar, and geolocation, helping him analyze his health and schedule. Lütke noted that the system has identified his most stressful meetings, which he shared with the individuals involved.
This marks another example of tech leaders using AI for personal insights, following similar practices by Google’s Sundar Pichai, Apple’s Tim Cook, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman. Lütke has also encouraged Shopify employees to leverage AI, requiring teams to justify why they can’t achieve goals with AI before hiring new staff.
