Siemens Healthineers and NVIDIA have announced a partnership to develop next-generation adaptive radiotherapy technology. The collaboration combines AI and robotic intelligence with medical imaging and oncology expertise to streamline workflows and improve healthcare accessibility. Siemens Healthineers CEO Bernd Montag highlighted three key areas of focus: AI for treatment planning, seamless management of complexity, and enhanced decision-making for clinicians. Arthur Kaindl, global president of the Oncology Division, emphasized that adaptive radiotherapy should tailor treatment to patients rather than requiring patients to adapt to treatment. The partnership builds on recent advancements, including the Accela system, to explore how AI and real-time computing can provide faster insights and support personalized care for more patients. The collaboration aims to empower clinicians with deeper insights and confidence in adjusting treatment plans, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes through AI integration in radiotherapy.
