Socure, an identity verification and fraud prevention firm based in Incline Village, Nevada, has raised $156 million in strategic growth funding, valuing the company at $5.2 billion. The investment, led by Summit Partners, includes both primary capital and a secondary tender offer for employees, with participation from Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Wells Fargo, Docusign, and others. Socure also acquired Austin-based AI fraud investigation startup Fravity, aiming to automate financial crime investigations. The company, which has raised over $742 million since its 2012 inception, reported a 63% increase in annual recurring revenue to $364 million in Q2 2026. Socure’s CEO, Johnny Ayers, highlighted the surge in AI-driven fraud, noting an 8,000% rise last year. Fravity’s AI-native platform will integrate into Socure’s RiskOS platform as RiskOS_Agents, focusing on watchlist screening and know-your-business checks. The acquisition positions Socure in a $71.1 billion financial crime investigation market, addressing challenges like the time banks spend reviewing alerts. Ayers emphasized the growing importance of identity verification in the AI-driven economy, distinguishing between AI-native companies and those facing its consequences.
