South Korea's government is set to launch a nationwide initiative offering free generative AI services to all citizens, aiming to assist with daily tasks such as medical appointments, housing searches, and tax filings. The 'All for AI' program will begin its beta testing in September and is expected to expand its coverage later this year. The initiative is spearheaded by two major telecom providers and Kakao, the country's largest consumer internet platform. The AI service will integrate with government systems, enabling residents to book medical appointments, search for apartments, and receive tax guidance. Small businesses will also benefit by using the AI for tax calculations and policy recommendations. Parents will receive personalized educational content suggestions. The government plans to allocate up to 512 NVIDIA B200 chips to support businesses. A recent survey indicated that about 25% of South Koreans are willing to pay for AI services. South Korea's three major technology alliances plan to launch their own AI applications, integrating AI features into existing products. Users will have unlimited access to the services without token restrictions. The initiative reflects the government's commitment to making AI accessible to all citizens, with the goal of enhancing productivity and improving quality of life.
