Space daily, a 30-year-old space media outlet, is now run by ai-generated fake content

On September 22, 2026, it was revealed that the long-standing space media outlet Space Daily, which has operated for over 30 years, has been transformed into a content farm after being acquired by Brown Brothers Media. The company now generates misleading AI-generated content with low-quality sources, using fabricated experts to lend credibility. Futurism found that the site’s monthly traffic reaches 10 million, but its content is largely fake, with authors like Dr. Katherine Chen and Dr. James Whitfield, who do not exist. The European Space Agency confirmed that Whitfield was never employed there. Brown Brothers Media later deleted articles and removed the fake authors. Despite this, Space Daily continues to publish content under vague names like 'Mission Notes,' and the quality remains poor. One article about the Rosetta mission, which occurred over a decade ago, was republished to boost traffic. Another article, titled with a complex scientific-sounding phrase, was flagged as entirely AI-generated by Pangram. The article was attributed to Chris Jeremia, used as a 'meat proxy' for AI content.
