Suno, an AI music startup, has launched its latest generation of models in collaboration with Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe, according to Jack Brody, the company's chief product officer. This marks the first set of models developed under Suno's music industry partnerships. Brody emphasized that the new v6 models are part of Suno's effort to transform its relationship with the music industry, creating products that benefit artists. The company has also announced plans to retire its previous models. The agreements include revenue sharing with rights holders, though financial terms were not disclosed. Brody noted that Suno still restricts users from generating songs in the likeness of known artists or songs. Despite ongoing lawsuits with some industry players, Suno is expanding its opt-in AI experiences around artists, which Brody described as 'phase two' of its industry partnerships. Over 100 million people have used Suno, according to the company. Suno's new deals signal a shift toward AI tools that artists can choose to participate in and get paid from. Brody highlighted that some artists have already integrated Suno and other AI tools into their creative processes, indicating a growing acceptance of AI in music production.
