AI is reshaping supply chain operations, with leaders highlighting its transformative effects. Seaports are using AI to manage complex water-to-land movements, warehouses are deploying AI-powered drones to cut backorders and improve worker satisfaction, and logistics firms are leveraging AI for predictive analytics to tackle last-mile delivery challenges. Eight supply chain leaders, representing manufacturing, technology, logistics, and sustainability, shared their experiences. J-Ann Tio Toles of Arrive Logistics noted AI's ability to process customer data in real-time, significantly reducing processing times. Mantej Singh Randhawa of Genpact emphasized the lack of consensus on agentic AI and the rapid adoption curve in supply chain sectors. Chap Achen of Gartner highlighted demand forecasting as the leading AI application, with 82% of retailers using it. Bob Loycano of FDH Aero discussed AI's potential in automating sourcing and procurement decisions, while Monique Murfield of Miami University focused on AI's role in enhancing reverse logistics for circular supply chains. Saskia van Gendt of Blue Yonder mentioned AI's potential to improve efficiency and sustainability, though she also raised concerns about the environmental impact of data centers.
