SurveyMonkey revamps platform with AI to simplify survey creation and analysis

SurveyMonkey is overhauling its platform with AI-driven tools to simplify survey creation and analysis. The update, called Today’s SurveyMonkey, aims to make it easier for users to design and interpret surveys using AI. CEO Eric Johnson emphasized the continued importance of human feedback in decision-making. The platform now features a streamlined interface, enhanced home page, and AI-powered tools for crafting surveys. Users can quickly draft questionnaires using plain-language prompts and traditional editing tools. AI also helps analyze responses in real-time, highlighting key findings. The redesign reduces the number of clicks needed to create a quarterly employee engagement survey from 77 to six. A study found that 83% of small business owners find customer feedback useful, but only 54% collect it regularly. SurveyMonkey is rolling out the upgrades this month. Johnson, appointed CEO in 2023 after the company was taken private in a $1.5 billion deal, aims to make the core survey product more effective. The company launched an early version of its AI feature in 2023, powered by OpenAI’s GPT.
