Swedish tv show's deleted season was due to human error, not AI

Swedish television channel TV4 has denied claims that an AI agent deleted an entire season of its reality show, The Challenge Sverige, just weeks before its scheduled premiere. According to sources, the production company Mastiff gave an AI access to its servers, leading to the deletion of the edited second season. The deleted files are now irrecoverable, forcing the show to be reedited, a process that originally took a year. The show's premiere has been delayed from November 22 to some time next year. A spokesperson for The Challenge confirmed the files were lost but did not confirm AI involvement, citing a technical breakdown. TV4's program director, Mia Lindqvist, later stated that the issue was due to a failed backup, not AI. An internal investigation by TV4 concluded the deletion was caused by human error. Lindqvist acknowledged that AI is widely used in production but emphasized it was not responsible in this case.
