Tencent's workbuddy expands to domestic operating systems, enhancing AI office capabilities
On September 3, 2026, Tencent launched its full-scenario AI intelligent agent, WorkBuddy, on Galaxy Kylin and UnionTech UOS, making it available in their official app stores and openKylin and deepin community software stores. Users can install the app with one click and access 2000 free credits. This compatibility involved collaboration between Tencent and domestic OS vendors, with customizations for core scenarios like system login and device connectivity. The result is a native-level experience on Linux systems, with smooth user interaction across platforms.
WorkBuddy supports document writing, data analysis, code assistance, and content creation, enabling users to build personalized AI workflows. Previously, a government version of WorkBuddy was launched in June 2026, serving civil servants in Guangdong. In July, the HarmonyOS PC version was released, completing coverage of major domestic OS groups, including HarmonyOS, Galaxy Kylin, and UnionTech UOS. This marks a significant step toward AI office adoption in government and IT innovation sectors.
