Tencent's workbuddy expands to national linux systems

On September 3, 2026, Tencent's WorkBuddy launched on the Galaxy Kylin and UnionTech OS platforms, making its applications available in their respective app stores. The integration was not a simple code migration but a collaborative effort with domestic OS developers to ensure seamless performance across core functions like login synchronization and device interaction. Users can now download WorkBuddy directly from these app stores without additional setup, receiving 2000 free points as a new user incentive. Earlier this year, WorkBuddy expanded to HarmonyOS, covering both mobile and PC versions. In June, the Guangdong provincial government launched a new intelligent governance platform, with a specialized WorkBuddy version for public administration already available to all provincial civil servants. IT Home noted that WorkBuddy now supports multiple domestic operating systems, including HarmonyOS, Galaxy Kylin, and UnionTech OS.
