On August 20, the Lhasa venue of the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference hosted a thematic forum titled 'Shu Qi Na Jin · Zhi Hui Gao Yuan,' where the Lhasa Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute was officially established. During the event, the 'Sunshine Qingyan' general Tibetan language large model was launched. The model's research results were first revealed on November 19, 2025, and it completed the filing process with the Office of the Central Cyberspace Administration. Following nearly two months of internal testing and over two months of public testing, the model was officially released. Professor Ni Ma Zaxi, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and initiator of the Lhasa Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute, highlighted that 'Sunshine Qingyan' is a trillion-parameter general Tibetan language large model developed based on a strong base model. It inherits the general intelligence and world knowledge of the base model and achieves a deep understanding and generation of Tibetan language and the knowledge system of Tibet through the use of massive multilingual Tibetan data. Ni Ma Zaxi also noted that due to the relatively insufficient large-scale computing power and high-quality data during the model training stage, 'Sunshine Qingyan' still has room for improvement in its overall performance. The research institute plans to increase investment in computing infrastructure and data scale to promote rapid iteration and enhancement of model technology capabilities, with the intention of launching various parameter-scale 'Sunshine Qingyan' series large models tailored for different application scenarios. The Lhas, Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute was jointly established by the Luwu New District Management Committee of Lhasa City and Tibet University under their strategic cooperation agreement. The institute integrates high-quality resources from the government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors, positioning itself as an artificial intelligence innovation platform for the digital industry and plateau characteristic industries in Lhasa City and the Tibet Autonomous Region. The institute will focus on key technology research and development, achievement verification, and application conversion in the field of artificial intelligence, bridging the gap between scientific and technological innovation and industrial development. During the forum, a series of 'Sunshine' language technology achievements and multiple research outcomes and products aimed at the cultural tourism industry were unveiled, covering applications such as 3D reconstruction, interactive experience, and digital humans. A joint laboratory signing ceremony was also held, inviting experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from the digital economy sector to engage in in-depth exchanges and technical supply-demand对接 on how artificial intelligence can empower enterprise digital transformation.
