Ukraine deploys AI to predict russian drone strikes with high accuracy

Ukraine's defense ministry announced on Tuesday that its forces are set to integrate a NATO-developed artificial intelligence model, dubbed 'Model No. 13,' to predict the likely locations and timing of Russian drone strikes. The model uses historical combat data, weather, and battlefield conditions to forecast strike details, including time, location, intensity, and drone type. The ministry stated that the model has been validated with real-world datasets and is ready for integration into Ukraine's situational awareness systems. Developed in collaboration with NATO's Allied Command Transformation and the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center, the tool is expected to run on Ukraine's DELTA battlefield management system, which already employs an AI module called Vezha for detecting Russian equipment. Ukraine also mentioned the development of another AI model, No. 32, for artillery deployment, though it is still in testing. The ministry noted that Ukrainian forces have been using AI for threat forecasting since last year.
