VAST, a 3d AI startup, raises over 5.7 billion rmb in six months
VAST, a Beijing-based AI 3D startup, has raised over 5.7 billion RMB in less than six months, making it one of the most capital-pursued companies in the 3D-native intelligent industry. The company, founded in November 2022 by Song Yachen, a former SenseTime and MiniMax employee, recently completed its B and B+ rounds of funding, totaling approximately 3 billion RMB, led by Sequoia Capital. VAST's investor base includes financial capital, industrial giants, and local state-owned capital, such as Perfect World, 37 Games, and Yizhuang State-owned Capital Investment.
Song Yachen, who graduated from Johns Hopkins University, has led the development of AI-generated 3D assets, addressing the industry's challenge of making models usable in industrial pipelines. On September 1, VAST released Tripo P2.0, a model that achieves end-to-end generation of native quadrilateral topology meshes, and launched Project Eden, a world model research initiative. By September 2026, Tripo Studio had attracted millions of creators globally and integrated into workflows for NetEase games and 3D printing companies.
