Vercel launches free tool to assess AI agent readiness of public websites
Vercel has launched Is Agentic, a free tool that evaluates how well AI agents can interact with public websites. The tool, developed in collaboration with Ora, an agent-experience research company from era labs, performs audits using over 100 checks. The results are presented through a scoring system that Vercel has adapted from Ora’s methodology. The tool is available at no cost, with no subscription fees or per-report charges, and can be accessed via a browser, CLI, or MCP server without requiring an API key or billing account.
The scoring model is divided into four layers: Discovery, Access, Usability, and Payments, with a total of 118 checks. Ora’s methodology is based on real agent runs rather than theoretical assumptions. The results are graded on a letter scale, ranging from A+ to F. Vercel has restructured these checks into its own scoring system, with essential checks contributing 80 points, recommended checks 20 points, and emerging signals adding up to five bonus points. Not-applicable checks are excluded rather than counted as failures.
The tool is designed for organizations across various industries, including developer tools, e-commerce, fintech, and healthcare, where AI agents may need to shop, book, or integrate on behalf of users. It supports pre-launch audits, CI checks, competitive benchmarking, and validation of MCP servers or OpenAPI surfaces. Each report includes observed evidence, concrete recommendations, and a breakdown of earned and available points per tier. Issues are detailed with IDs, names, and actionable suggestions.
Reports are accessible through three read-only surfaces, including an API with rate limits and error codes based on RFC standards. The MCP server provides an interactive score card, and an official agent skill can be installed via npx. The site itself adheres to the standards it sets, rendering scores in initial HTML responses and supporting Markdown formats. The tool aims to help developers and businesses prepare their websites for AI agent interactions by identifying areas for improvement and offering clear remediation guidance.
