Vipshop launches AI assistant and introduces ai-driven product comparison feature

Vipshop has quietly launched its self-developed AI assistant, 'AI Xiao Wei,' which supports text and voice interaction, offering users the ability to search for products, check promotions, and inquire about discounts. The AI assistant is developed by Vipshop's large model team and is part of the company's broader strategy to integrate AI into its operations. The company is also actively recruiting top talent for its large model team, offering salaries ranging from 50K to 80K per month, with corresponding annual salaries between 600,000 and 960,000 yuan. These hires are focused on building the capabilities of 'AI Xiao Wei,' including intent recognition, product understanding, and multi-turn dialogue. In parallel, Vipshop is rolling out an AI-driven product comparison feature in a limited release. The feature, which was previously displayed directly on product pages, has been redesigned, with the in-page comparison tool now accessible via a dedicated button. Vipshop's CEO Shen Ya stated that AI is becoming a key driver of growth and efficiency, citing the company's second-quarter 2026 earnings report, which showed a 4.3% decline in net revenue to 24.7 billion yuan.
