The second World Humanoid Robot Games concluded on August 26, 2026, in the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval, known as 'Ice Ribbon.' Over five days, 666 teams from 16 countries competed in 51 events with 2056 robots. The competition saw significant improvements compared to the previous year, with notable advancements in athletics, including a 400-meter large group champion time of 38.15 seconds, a 1500-meter champion time of 2 minutes 21.64 seconds, and a standing jump height of 3.40 meters. The 100-meter champion achieved a time of 9.32 seconds. In the large group 100-meter final, the Tianjiao team set a new record with a time of 8.64 seconds, following earlier times of 9.39 seconds and 8.85 seconds. Shanghai-based company Zhiyuan Robotics, a leader in embodied intelligence, made its debut and won 18 gold, 16 silver, and 12 bronze medals, securing the top positions in both the gold and overall medal tables. The company's agile hand won 7 gold medals across eight specialized events, while its work track secured 6 gold medals, and its competitive events earned 5 gold medals. The participating robots included the Sprite G2, Lingxi X2, and Yuanzheng A3, covering projects such as fire emergency response, library organization, obstacle courses, boxing, and table tennis. During the closing ceremony, the organizing committee launched the world's first comprehensive dataset for a humanoid robot competition, featuring over 2500 hours of real-world data across 12 scenarios, including industrial, retail, dining, office, home, and fire rescue environments. The dataset includes 44 tasks, over 100 skills, and thousands of detailed operations, along with failure cases and boundary conditions. The data will be freely available to the public. Additionally, the 'Robotics in Schools' initiative was launched, with Beijing Robotics Rental Company donating 100 robots, some of which will be allocated to training bases, while others will be distributed by education authorities to relevant schools. The third World Humanoid Robot Games is set to take place in Beijing in August 2027, with IT Home planning to provide detailed coverage at that time.
