YouTube has announced the global rollout of its 'Replace song' feature within YouTube Studio, a tool designed to assist content creators in managing audio copyright claims. This functionality, which was previously available in the United States, allows creators to address copyright music issues directly within the platform. When a creator receives an audio copyright claim, the tool automatically generates four unique, royalty-free instrumental background music tracks. These tracks can then be used to substitute the copyrighted audio, and upon replacement, the corresponding Content ID copyright declaration is automatically removed. Creators can access this by navigating to the 'Replace song' tool in YouTube Studio and clicking the 'Create' button under the 'Suggestions' tab, yielding four tracks, each approximately three minutes long, which can be looped or adjusted in volume. YouTube stated that the primary goal of this feature is to minimize disruptions to the creative workflow caused by audio copyright disputes. While the tool currently only generates instrumental music, it does not yet support the creation of vocals or complete songs.
