Zhipu introduces data erasure feature for maas platform

On September 21, Zhipu announced it will soon introduce a 'no data retention' feature for its MaaS platform, aimed at enhancing data privacy for enterprises and developers. The mechanism ensures that input and output data generated during model calls are not stored on the platform and are discarded after use. Users can apply through the MaaS console, though the exact implementation timeline and scope remain to be determined by the platform. This feature adds an extra layer of data protection for enterprise customers with compliance needs. Zhipu clarified that the mechanism does not apply to functions requiring persistent storage, such as Batch API and File API. Additionally, the platform may retain data for up to 30 days or longer as mandated by law or for monitoring potential violations. With large AI models rapidly expanding, data privacy has become a critical factor for enterprises. Zhipu's 'no storage' approach balances privacy protection with model efficiency, ensuring compliance and risk control while data is erased post-use.
