Google expands AI features in play store with enhanced search and personalized game recommendations

Google is enhancing its Play Store with new AI-driven features aimed at improving app discovery and personalization. The Ask Play feature, initially launched in 2025 as a chatbot interface for app listings, is now expanding to offer more general AI-powered search capabilities. Users can ask questions about apps and games, receiving detailed recommendations and comparison charts. Gemini will soon introduce a similar functionality. Additionally, Google is introducing Game Finder, an AI recommendation engine that analyzes data from 1.2 billion Android gamers to create personalized profiles called Gamer DNA, matching users with similar players. These updates aim to make the Play Store more intuitive and tailored to individual preferences, while also supporting developers who use AI to create private, vibe-coded apps.
